Jerome Godboo at The Cove, Westport Print E-mail

A picture is worth 1000 words so here you have 6000 words about the latest event at The Cove (Westport, ON) on February 19, 2010 featuring Jerome Godboo with Alec Fraser, Al Cross and Shawn Kellerman.

Jerome Godboo at The Cove

Dancing fools at The Cove - as always!

Jerome Godboo and his excellent band came, performed and conquered The Cove Inn on Friday, February 19 for another memorable Blues On The Rideau night. This was Jerome’s first visit here and he didn’t disappoint blowing some blazing harmonica (along with other instruments including his kid’s Boomwhackers percussion tubes!), strong vocals, great original songs (many off his upcoming new CD being released this spring ) and generally danced, gyrated and entertained the audience all night long. Standing ovation and double encore demanded by the crowd at night’s end.

Al Cross (formerly with Big Sugar) laid down some great drumming (we luck in by having him return in April with Harmonica Shah/Jack de Keyzer and in June with Danny Marks) along with the incomparable Alec Fraser on bass (2009 Maple Blues Award winner) and Shawn Kellerman playing some insanely awesome guitar to compliment Jerome.

Wham, bam, slaw! Super night. $225 each ($500 total) was raised for the Rideau Waterway Land Trust & Friends of Foley Mountain bringing the total donations to local charities so far this season to just under $3,000.

performance captured by Videographer Ken Bowman.
