Day 26 - Branau, Austria
Jimmy Bowskill Band - European Tour Blog - Jan - Mar 2010

We all manage to make it downstairs for breakfast in the morning which, for me, consists of an egg and orange juice. I’m so tired that I don’t even have an desire to eat.
I go back to bed and wake very late. I decide to go look around town and see Dan outside. We wander around this beautiful town trying to find Hitler’s birthplace. We are told it is marked with a stone but it is not terribly visible as they don’t want to celebrate him, for obvious reasons. In fact, there is a blurb on the stone that talks of peace and the desire to not commit atrocities to our fellow man but no mention of Hitler’s name on it. One must know about it to find it. In fact, we walk by it twice before spotting it.
The building where Hitler was born….Braunau, Austria
I go back to the hotel with a piece of cake and a coffee (all the food I could find) and fall asleep, still quite tired. The rest of the night was spent finding dinner and watching the Big Lebowski, all of us huddled in Jim’s room with his Marshall amp serving as the speaker for the movie dialog.
