Marshall Lawrence New Acoustic Blues CD Print E-mail
Written by Press Release

Marshall_Lawrence_Cover.jpgEdmonton, AB (May 17, 2010):  Marshall Lawrence latest acoustic blues and roots disc, Blues Intervention, is now available. It's a recording that's steeped in Marshall's reverence for acoustic blues masters, yet abandons just enough form to embrace a fresh approach to an old tradition. Featuring Marshall's raw Delta bottleneck & finger style sound, and adorned by the talents of onetime B.B. King bassist Russell Jackson (stand-up acoustic bass) and Sherman "The Tank" Doucette (harmonica), Blues Intervention is a breath of fresh Mississippi juke joint air for blues and roots lovers of all persuasions.

In a recent review of "Blues Intervention", John Vermilyea of the Blues Underground Network writes: "When it comes to building a solid foundation of Blues Music in Canada, there is a new cornerstone being laid and standing firmly on top of that stone is one of our truest Ambassador's of the Blues, Marshall Lawrence".

Vermilyea emphatically also states that"Blues Intervention" is "...Marshall's best release to date and I have no doubt that it will be receiving plenty of accolades from the full spectrum of the blues industry and is the finest Canadian acoustic blues release this year". He further gives the CD his highest recommendation; a solid 5 star rating which was "...perhaps the easiest decision I have made this year and one that I knew this album was headed for, shortly after I started listening to it".
