The Crossroads Group CEO Les Barber announces that The Blues Hall of Fame© plans to partner with Crossroads Group LLC to bring THe Blues Hall of Fame© to the legendary "Crossroads" in Clarksdale, Misssissippi (the birthplace of the blues) made famous by Robert Johnson and Eric Clapton. The building site is located at the "crossroads" of Highways 49 and 61, which according to a Blues Legend, is exactly where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in order to become a Master Blues Artist. The Blues Hall of Fame© will be located in the Crossroads Hotel. "The Blues Hall of Fame© could not imagine a more appropriate building site," says the Blues Hall of Fame© Chairman, Dan Marolt. "Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Son House, W.C. Handy, Ike Turner, Pinetop Perkins, McKinley Morganfield, a.k.a. Muddy Waters, all called Clarksdale home. We, at B.H.F., are honored to now be able to say the same."
The Blues Hall of Fame© (www.BluesHallOfFame.com) plans on dramatically expanding the Local Blues Artist of the World section by setting off on a road trip expedition to record in high definition video the blues music of local blues artists located along the Mississippi Blues Trail. In keeping with the Alan Lomax spirit, this video documentary expedition will ultimately cover each major city in the U.S.A., Canada, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. Artists from around the world are encouraged to send videos of their work, blues memorabilia and blues artifacts which they would like exhibited and showcased at the Blues Hall of Fame©. All blues artists, blues fans and blues societies are invited to become a part of this historic event. We encourage you to offer suggestions for any and all aspects of this project. We look forward to hearing from you and to serving you. The Blues Hall of Fame© (under the National Heritage Foundation) is a non-profit International Organization of performing blues artists and friends which honors blues artists of the world by inducting them into the Blues Hall of Fame© at either the Master Blues Artist or Local Blues Artist level. The CROSSRAODS HOTEL AND ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX - A World Class Resort with 150 rooms/suites and an amphitheatre will be adjacent to The Robert Johnson Crossroads Blues Legend Park, an interactive park which will be situated across from the Hotel.
