REZ BLUEZ TV is nominated for two National Aboriginal Music Awards, an Aboriginal Peoples Music Choice Awards & a Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards for ‘Best Television Program Promoting Aboriginal Music’ (North Vancouver, B.C.) The producers of the second season of Rez Bluez TV, Elaine Bomberry, Aaron Goldman and Shawn Henry, are pleased to announce that their television program is nominated for both an Aboriginal Peoples Music Choice Award (APMCA) and a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award (CAMA), for ‘Best Television Program Promoting Aboriginal Music’.Rez Bluez TV is the only show of its kind in the world that showcases Native blues musicians and comedians from all over Turtle Island. Our guests for the second season included: 2008 JUNO Award winner Derek Miller, Keith Secola, Murray Porter, Billy Joe Green, The Pappy Johns Band, Dalannah Bowen, Shakti Hayes, Helene Duguay, Harrison Kennedy, Isaac Mandamin & South Thunderbird, The Plateros, Jason Burnstick, Brock Stonefish, Wes Mackey, Jacques & the Shakey Boys, Jared Sowan, Martha Redbone, Dave West, Art Napoleon, Blues Hounds, Mark Laforme, Robbie Antone, The Breeze Band, Ronnie Douglas Trio, Texas Meltdown, and The Old Mush Singers, with Comedians/Hosts Michaela Washburn, Gerry ‘The Big Bear’ Barrett, Drew Lacapa and Skeena Reece! Also from season two of Rez Bluez TV, we want to congratulate Derek Miller who’s nominated for 5 APMCA’s and one CAMA! Congrats also goes out to Texas Meltdown, who’s nominated for “Best Blues” at the CAMA’s! We also want to give the tip of our hats to musicians from season 1 of Rez Bluez TV who are also nominated for an APMCA, Slidin’ Clyde Roulette and Jace Martin! Best of luck Fellaz! We encourage you all to vote for our show, and our Rez Bluez musicians who are also nominated. The APMCA are being held on November 6th & 7th, 2008, at the Manito Ahbee Festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Elaine Bomberry will be one of the co-hosts for the First Night Awards, the pre-show awards, on Thursday, November 6th. The televised awards are on Friday, November 7th, with hosts Lorne Cardinal and Andre Menard. The CAMA’s are on Friday, November 28th, at the Canadian Aboriginal Festival in Toronto, Ontario. You can see Rez Bluez TV every Saturday on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network at 5 pm/PT and 8 pm/ET, and again on Sunday’s at 4 pm/PT and 7 pm/ET.
